The New Quay Lifeboats

An illustrated history of New Quay Lifeboats 1864-2014: One Hundred and fifty years of service and courage, by Roger Bryan.

The New Quay Lifeboats: One hundred and fifty years of service and courage was launched appropriately enough at the Lifeboat station at New Quay on April 22.

The book details the history of all the lifeboats that have served New Quay since 1864 and recounts their notable services.

Alan Tomkins, chair of the New Quay RNLI Management Committee, said: ‘It is such a privilege to have local author Roger Bryan publishing his book giving such a vibrant account of our 150-year history. The book captures the spirit of our lifeboatmen and women down the generations and is full of interesting facts and illustrations’.

This is the third local history book by the author since 2010. Aberaeron – a history in pictures was followed in 2012 by New Quay – a history in pictures.
